Care and community services focused organisation who are evolving and transforming into a best-in-class operation require consultancy support to enable the transition from legacy to new business operational systems. With the majority of the estate in scope, the initial analysis phase will identify particular pain points and interdependencies and produce a report that highlights what needs to be replaced/upgraded. A procurement project then needs to be initiated to develop tender documents and vendors invited to participate. Ultimately a new system will be selected and then implemented. This last phase is not part of the initial assignment but may well be added, subject to a contract extension. As you will take control of this process you must be someone who can organise and drive projects from initiation to completion.  An ability to understand current and target processes and data requirements and the features/requirements of new systems will be a core skill. In addition you will possess the interpersonal skills that allow for engagement with senior stakeholders, external suppliers and fellow team members. The organisation is Preston based but you will work largely from home. This is initially a 6 month part-time (likely 2/3 days per week) contract.

Having gained an understanding of the business, systems and data requirements from stakeholder workshops and one to ones, the role will involve the production of solution designs, specs and target operating models for internal and external 3rd party audiences. Systems changes will of course also go hand in hand with process improvements. You will be an experienced business analyst with an in-depth understanding of business, process and data analysis, previous exposure to both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies, and prior involvement with large scale companywide integration activities. In addition you will possess the interpersonal skills that allow for engagement with senior stakeholders, external suppliers and fellow team members. The role will involve mostly home working with 1 day per week in either Liverpool or Glasgow.

Having gained an understanding of IT Infrastructure through project managing technical changes you will have performed the implementation management role on some large scale systems or infrastructure changes, taking responsibility for business readiness activities, cut-over planning, back-out plans, etc. Whilst a natural team player, you must have previously led the implementation workstream and have developed interpersonal skills to manage and communicate at all levels. Your planning skills must be extremely well honed with a keen eye for essential detail and relevant reporting. The ability to influence at various levels and work autonomously is also core to the role. The contract will be for initially 6 months, is predominantly home based and pay c£550-£600 per day (outside IR35).

You will manage multiple third party relationships as part of this project and therefore must be able to demonstrate previous experience of successful stakeholder engagement and management. Of equal importance is the ability to develop a robust project plan that all parties involved can agree to, which will be critical to successful delivery. Again, you must be able to evidence situations where you have been personally responsible for the project planning combined with managing the various supplier commitments to the plan and challenging where necessary. The initial assignment is for 6 months and the day rate is £550 per day, outside IR35. There is requirement to be in the offices in Cardiff 2 days every 2 weeks initially and then reducing to once a month.

Demonstrable previous experience in a hands on BA role is critical and ideally within a financial services environment, as well as the ability to mentor and develop junior members of the team.
